1. What is smilo.ai?
The smilo.ai system uses a smartphone application used by you (the User) and a web platform (used by Dentists or other Registered Health Professionals) to share information about oral health issues, including images of the Users teeth and gums.
Oral Tech AI Pty Ltd (smilo.ai) seeks to provide Users with information about their teeth, gums, and oral health. It operates by providing a platform for Users to provide images which then may be reviewed by artificial intelligence and machine learning to assess and provide guidance on the services that may be required from a Dentist or other Registered Health Professional.
Smilo.ai may be used to facilitate an initial consultation between a User and a Dentist or other Health Professional or provide updates in between appointments between the User and their Dentist of other Registered Health Professional.
NOTE: smilo.ai and your Dentist or other Registered Health Professional cannot provide a diagnosis using smilo.ai alone and using smilo.ai does not replace the need to visit your Dentist or other Registered Health Professional on a regular basis or when issues arise.
2. Why is smilo.ai asking for my consent?
The smilo.ai system requires us to collect, use, and disclose the following types of information about you: personal information, sensitive information, and health information.
We require your consent:
- To collect your personal information, sensitive information, and health information.
- To disclose any of this collected information.
By giving consent, your personal and health information including but not limited to your name, address, and contact number and images of your teeth, gums, and oral structures, will be collected and shared with the Dentist or other Registered Health Professional. This information may be shared for the purpose of arranging a virtual consultation and pre-screening through smilo.ai between you and your Dentist or other Registered Health Professional.

3. Giving your consent
By proceeding, you declare and agree to the following statements:
- I consent to smilo.ai to collect my personal information, sensitive information, and health information in accordance with the smilo.ai Privacy Policy.
- I consent to my Dentist or other Registered Health Professional uploading my information and images to smilo.ai.
- I acknowledge that smilo.ai does not and cannot provide a diagnosis and is only used for pre-screening purposes and that I must visit my Dentist or other Registered Health Professional for assessment and treatment.
- I acknowledge that I have read and understood the smilo.ai Privacy Policy and this consent form.
- I acknowledge that I have read and understood smilo.ai’s terms and conditions (Terms and Conditions).
- I understand that I can withdraw my consent at any time and this will not in any way limit the services provided by my Dentist or any other Registered Health Professional.
- I confirm I am 18 years or older or, where the legal jurisdiction in which you are based prescribes a higher age, at least that age.
NOTE: If you are under the age of eighteen (18) (or below the age at which persons may enter into legal binding contract in your country of use) your parent or guardian must give their consent.

How does it work?
Your uploaded photos are processed securely and confidentially so smilo.ai can provide an AI-assisted dental screening.
With your consent, smilo.ai uses your photos to help assess visible dental health concerns and generate a personalised oral health report.
Who can access my information?
Your information may only be accessed by you and authorised dental or healthcare professionals involved in your care, where applicable.
Your uploaded photos and personal information are not made publicly available.
Is it secure?
Yes. smilo.ai uses security measures to help keep your information safe, including secure storage, encrypted transmission, restricted access, and consent-based processing.
Consent to Use Photos
By continuing, you agree that smilo.ai may use your uploaded images/photos for AI-assisted dental screening and analysis.
The AI screening is for oral health awareness and guidance only. It does not replace a diagnosis, treatment, or advice from a qualified dental professional.
Security & Compliance
Smilo.ai is designed to protect your uploaded photos and personal information.
We use security measures including:
- Secure storage of uploaded photos and personal information.
- Encrypted transmission when your data is uploaded and processed.
- Restricted access to authorised smilo.ai team members and authorised dental or healthcare professionals, where applicable.
Consent-based processing, meaning your photos are only used after you agree.
AI-assisted analysis disclosure, meaning your uploaded photos are used to support AI-assisted dental screening and generate your personalised oral health report.
